Fresh Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

8 ripe tomatoes (big)
1 onion sliced
2 cloves garlic minced or finely chopped
1 big green chilli diamond cut
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 tablespoon oil
Pinch of cumin seed
Pinch of mustard seed
1/2 cup chopped coriander
1/2 water

Method

Step 1

Cut tomato in small cubes

Step 2

In a frying pan add oil

Step 3

Add cumin and mustard seed and add onion

Step 4

Fry onion for 1 minute Add garlic and stir

Step 5

Add tomato

Step 6

Add salt and sugar keep stirring for few minutes to get enough heat

Step 7

Add water and cook for 4 minutes or until all water reduces.

Step 8

Add coriander and finish of cooking

Step 9

Tip * Since tomato are acidic , adding sugar it balances the acidic taste. * your chutney will not taste good until it’s cooked well, so when water reduces the oil starts to appear and that’s the perfect and yummy chutney. Chutney shouldn’t be watery.
